Football legacy of the 2000's

In the Nfl, there is usually a team of the decade. In the 60's, it was the Packers. In the 70's, it was the Steelers, 80's the 49ers and so on. But who is the team of the 2000's? I am here to tell you that it is not the team most people expect it is.

Most people think that since the New England Patriots went to 4 Super bowls they deserve to be the team. But i say, that's not true. Yes, they have been to 4 Super bowls, but they were accused and found to be cheating. So how can they be the team seeing as we don't know if any of their Super bowl wins might be tainted? Nobody can say that the New York Giants are either because they have only been good for the last 2 years and have only made the Super Bowl once.

So who is the team of the 2000's? The answer is simple: The Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have only missed the playoffs 3 times in the 2000's. Also, they have always had one of the best defenses in the Nfl, and they have never been accused of Cheating, and I believe they haven't because Pittsburgh has one of the best owners in the Nfl in the Rooney family. So now we had into the 2010's. Who will be the best team in that decade? We will know in the years to come.

Sports droughts

There are some teams in pro sports that win a championship every 2 or 3 years. Then we have those teams that win a championship every 10 or 20 years. Then there are those teams that win one and and don't win another one for a very long time. For example, the Boston Red Sox won the world series 2 out of 3 years, and then you have the Chicago Cubs who have not won a championship in 100 years. I mean they have had great teams in the past like when the Cubs had "Mr. Cub" Ernie Banks, or when they had "Slammin" Sammy Sosa, or even this year when the were the dominant team in the National League. Some teams just have the worst luck. Well technically you could say the Nfl's Arizona Cardinals have bad luck seein as they are in their first championship game since 1947. If they win, then their streak will end, but if they lose, and the Cubs win the World Series this year, and Arizona doesn't win a championship for 40 years, they will take over the longest championship drought ever. Well that is all i have to say. Until next time America.

Why do people like only the good teams?

New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants...All pretty good teams...so why does everybody like the teams with good records instead of of their actual favorite team? I know somebody who was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, until last year, then all of a sudden this person started liking the New England Patriots. Why? Just because a team makes the playoffs doesn't mean that you can't cheer for your favorite team. Now i am a fan of the San Francisco 49ers, a team who hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years, but i still cheer for them every week. I mean sometimes it is hard to cheer for a team that goes 2-14 or 0-16, but it doesn't mean you should abandon them, it means you should cheer harder for them to better the next season. I hope i hear back from you the fan.

Athletes Attitudes

Hi my name is Tyler Brown and this is my first blog. I am here to talk about how athletes act now as to back then. Athletes now pretty much want one thing: money. take for example Terrell Owens, Football player for the Dallas Cowboys. He pretty much gets everything he wants. If he wants off a team, all he has to do is complain and he gets his way. I am suprised he hasn't got kicked off Dallas yet. Not all players are like that. It used to be simple back in the time when there was no salary cap and you could sign whoever you wanted. Thats how it was back in the 70's and 80's. Through it all, there was one man who never complained about nothin and that man was Jerry Rice, former wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, and the San Francisco 49ers. He didn't care how much he was paid, he just cared about playing football. An example of his loyalty to football is when he hurt his leg really bad and the doctors said he was done for the season, but he rehabbed that leg and was back in around 6 or 7 weeks only to injure it again to finish his season, but still that shows how much he loves the game. These players now days could learn a lot from the players of old. Feel free to post anything back on this, I would love to comment back.
